Privacy Policy

This site is operated by the author Beatrice Ashby ("we," "us"). We collect only the information needed to run the site, answer you, and deliver what you have asked for, and we never sell it.

What we collect, and why

• When you use the contact form: your name, email address, and message, so that we can reply. These are processed by our form provider, Web3Forms.
• When you join the mailing list or a membership: your email address (and name, if you give it), so we can send you what you signed up for. This is managed by our email provider, MailerLite.
• When you buy a membership or gift: your purchase is handled by our payment processor and merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy (a Stripe company). We receive your email and order details so we can deliver your membership. We never see or store your full payment-card numbers.
• When you browse: anonymous, aggregated usage statistics through Google Analytics. For visitors in the EU and UK, analytics cookies load only after you accept them; visitors elsewhere can opt out at any time through their browser.

How we use it

To reply to your messages, deliver your emails and membership packets, process and support your purchases, and understand in a general way how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not use your information for any unrelated purpose.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the trusted services that make the site work: Hostinger (web hosting), MailerLite (email), Lemon Squeezy (billing and tax), Web3Forms (contact form), and Google Analytics (site statistics). Each handles your data under its own privacy policy.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from any email at any time using the link at the foot of it. You may ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you through our contact page. This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16.

Refund Policy

Everything sold here, including memberships in The Dead Letter Society and any other digital products, is digital content delivered electronically.

• All sales are final. Because our products are digital and made available to you immediately, we do not offer refunds, except where a refund is required by law.
• Memberships renew until you cancel. You may cancel at any time, which stops all future billing. When you cancel, you keep access through the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not provide partial refunds for unused time.
• Billing questions. Your payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (a Stripe company), our merchant of record. If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us and we will look into it promptly.

Your membership and our content

The Dead Letter Society is a digital subscription. Its letters, artwork, printables, and other materials, along with everything else on this site and in our newsletters, are original works and remain the property of Beatrice Ashby. They are provided for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment. Please do not redistribute, resell, or publicly share members-only materials.

Billing

Membership is offered as a recurring monthly or annual subscription, billed through Lemon Squeezy until you cancel, at the prices shown on the Letter Club page. Gift memberships are one-time purchases and do not renew.

Acceptable use

Please use the site lawfully and do not attempt to disrupt it, access areas not intended for you, or misuse the membership system. We may suspend access that is used in violation of these terms.

Disclaimer and changes

The site and its content are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We may update these policies from time to time; the date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised, and continued use of the site means you accept the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States.
